All India Industrial Exhibition and Ability Mela

Objectives:
a)    Awareness creation in the society.
b)    Encourage persons with mental retardation to display their skills.
c)    Display and generate sales for articles manufactured by mentally disabled persons.

Kiranam has been participating every year in the Industrial exhibition, organised in coordination with NIMH(National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped), Secunderabad and the All India Industrial Exhibition Society, Hyderabad.

A stall is arranged during January every year to display and sell the goods manufactured by persons with mental disability, in the exhibition. All the visitors to the stall are also provided with handouts (if required personal counseling.) with information on mental retardation and the services available for them.

The visitors were also provided information on the activities and services rendered by Kiranam for the disabled, so that more people can utilise these services and also support them. This exercise has proved successful in creating public awareness about the mentally disabled persons in the society.

The exhibition is held for a period of 45 days from 1 January to 15 February every year. Different varieties of colorful articles were exhibited and sold by the mentally disabled students of Kiranam Special School, in these exhibitions. The students with their tutors also participated in similar exhibition at Dilsuknagar and exhibited their talents and made Kiranam be proud of them.
