KIRANAM,
Organization for the welfare of disabled
is a nonprofit, noncommercial voluntary organization
registered under the Public Societies Registration
Act. (Telangana Area) (Article 1 of the 1350 fasli)
Regd. by Govt.No.611/93 APPSR Act.in 1993 in
Andhra Pradesh, India. KIRANAM is now, into
it's eighth year extending a ray of hope, fulfilling
its commitment to develop models of care for more
and more disabled persons.
The aims and objectives
of the organization are:
a. Undertake
projects that help in development of sustainable
models of service
for the disabled in rural
and urban areas.
b. Provide vocational guidance and
counseling services for the rehabilitation of
disabled.
c. Create awareness in society on organisational
activities on prevention
and rehabilitation
to enable their active participation in developmental activities.
d. Work on prevention of disability and
rehabilitation for the disabled.
e. Act as a liaison agency to ensure proper
utilisation of services by the
disabled through government
channel.
f. Coordinate with Non-Governmental organizations
and develop a common
platform for rendering
services to the disabled.
g. Form self-help
groups among disabled and enable them to
look after their own needs.
h. Fight environmental and sound pollution.
i. Work for development of natural
environment.
j. Promote Nutrition and health education
among women and children.
k. Serve mentally retarded through forming
parents association.
l. Undertake women
and child development projects for their
upliftment.
